The race attracted over 1,000 competitors and featured a 1.2 mile swim in Lake Walch, followed by a 56 mile bike through the mountains of Tyrol, and ending with a 13.1 mile run.

Despite a cold water temperature of 60 degrees, Michael completed the swim in 27:53 min. Once on the bike Weiss was able to pass the leading men, including the strong Italians, Massimo Cigana and Alessandro Degasperi.

Michael posted the fastest bike split with a time of 2:04:16 before beginning the half marathon which he completed in 1:21:02. Michi finished first with a time of 3:57:15, more than two minutes ahead of second place, Cigana.

Weiss was very pleased with his day and commented that this was his final test before Ironman Hawaii on October 9th.
