"Halfironman California" in Oceanside last saturday, march 27, held many ups and downs for Austrian competitor Michi Weiss ("Ciclopia Triteam").

The swim portion of the race was very successful as he exited the water in 26:04, just three minutes behind the winner, Michael Raelert.
Weiss´ bike performance was strong as usual, earning him the second fastest bike split. Arriving in T2, he was in third position, just in front of American Matt Reed, last year´s winner.
Unfortunately, the run was not perfect for Weiss. Due to digestive complications, Michi was not able to properly absorb his nutrition and fluids starting from getting on the bike, and fell back to 13 th position for the finish.All in all there were many high points in Michi´s race, and most important lessons learned for future improvements.
